March - 2026
Writing
Okay! So you know how Nature's Design book two and the ending of Ceto's story is out May 16th... so those that haven't, can catch up with book one before the release, throughout April book one e-book will be MASSIVELY discounted. So if you haven't already, go grab yourself a copy!
Plus, a cover reveal will be here soon (What a time to be alive?!)
I've also been diving head first into my D&D WIP (title to be revealed soon), and I'm happy to report that more than 30,000 words were written this month! It's not as much as I'd hoped but that number is pretty insane!
These characters are FUN! And I can't wait to work with them more over 2026, with a hopeful release Spring 2027!
I'll keep you updated, don't worry.
Editing
Guys, I have so many slots to fill up! Tell your friends, tell them to tell their friends! I've been holding onto a secret... I've reduced my working week in the soul destroying world of the NHS... don't tell my boss it's so I can take on more clients and fill my brain with your beautiful words!
So! What that means is, I can work with more clients per month, which in turn means I have more slots opening up.
June, July, August and September are all wide open!
March saw edits on a new client's manuscript, Eira Clarke - Two Fated Blades. The second in the series! I was lucky enough to read book one and edit book two, and when I say I can't wait for this story to be out in the world, it's purely because I need to talk to somebody else about it!
Her words flow beautifully and I really hope to work with her again in the future!
Thank you for trusting me with A and B!!
Reading
I've been so busy with March madness and editing, that I haven't had much time for reading!
I did get through One Dark Window which I enjoyed an insane amount! I wasn't aware how much I loved gothic fantasy... turns out, I very much do!
I'm also in the middle of reading an indie book by E.S Lannin, Elemental Heir. Also quite gothic and with an elemental magic system. I'm not that far into it, but it's interesting so far!
February - 2026
Writing
Not much has happened regarding my writing this month. Unless maybe if FINISHING Nature's Design book two is important? I got my manuscript back mid January from my copy editor and the rest is history! She's done!
OH! I may have a little surprise for my faithful subscribers...
A release date!
How does May 16th sound?!
That's right, you'll be finding out what happens to Ceto, Oscar, Quidel, Daylah, Nuri and Amaru this MAY!
Exactly a year after the release of book one...as if that was planned?!
As well as the exciting news regarding ND2, I've also been hard at work with the first draft of my D&D inspired WIP which will be released early 2027.
Title to be announced...
AND I'm trying my hand at my very first HEA romance...zero fantasy here. I know, I'm surprised too! But it's cute, it's swoon-worthy and I can't wait to get stuck into it!
Editing
February has seen the return of Hannah Hanvey and book two of her series, Shattered In Darkness.
I had the absolute privilege of working with Hannah on book one in the series, Cloaked In Darkness, and when I say I was excited to get stuck into Kivera's story, it's a HUGE understatement!
Her story is dark, mysterious, moody and full of heartbreak. Kivera's magic is delectable and SID had me in such a chokehold...gimme book three! (When you're ready...no pressure...but gimme!)
Go head over to Hannah's Instagram via the button below so you can catch up with Cloaked In Darkness before the release of Shattered In Darkness!
Authors, I have availability for the back end of 2027. Get in touch if you're in need of a developmental editor!
Reading
How I've found the time, I do not know?! But I have! And then some...
I did, in fact, become obsessed with Heated Rivalry and I fear I always will be (I don't fear it really, but others are concerned).
After watching the season...and then re-watching. And then watching again. And then watching episode 5 & 6. Then 1, 5 & 6. Then doing a re-heat. I read The Long Game because I just HAD to know what happened next and I wasn't disappointed! It was everything I'd hoped and more!
Then I jumped back in time and read Heated Rivalry! Perfect. Epic. Gorgeous. YES!
My next read was back in my wheel house with Godkiller. I loved it, and the writing of Hannah Kaner flowed beautifully!
Wait, there's more (I literally have never read so much in my life), with A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik. I'm very sad to say I had to DNF this one at around 40%. It wasn't bad, just not for me...which is sad because the blurb sounded amazing! In the end, there just wasn't enough drive in the story for me.
My last read of the month has been Apprentice to the Villain. I loved book one, but if it's possible, I've loved book two even more!!
I can't wait to read book three, but it'll have to wait...there are so many other books on the list, patiently waiting for me to crack them open!
I wonder how many I'll be able to read in March...I doubt four more!!
November - 2025
Writing
November saw the end of my first round of edits for Nature's Design book two. It was messy, I changed a lot. There was a ton of developmental edits, HUGE chunks of writings were cut, scenes discarded like leftovers, characters found a new hunger for their stories! But...it's better now!
I'll be going through a gentler edit in the last part of the year, making sure the plot makes sense and *things* are revealed as they should be, after the huge re-write.
I've booked my editor for January! Yes, even editors need editors...I've booked my cover designer for March too! So...though I've already hinted at a spring release of Nature's Design book two, an actual DATE will be revealed early next year!
In other news, I've been busy writing a festive short story for the fantasy bookish festival I'll be attending August 2027!
All attending authors had the opportunity to drop their characters into the world of Croeselfen, on the night of Yuletide, in a tavern!
You'll be able to read these short stories very very soon!
Did I mention tickets for the festival will be announced early next year?! Not to worry, I'll make sure to post about it so no one misses out!

Editing
I've missed editing! Though I've taken the last months of 2025 to focus on writing, there's been something missing...and that's helping other indie authors!
If you've seen my insta, you'll know I've managed to open even more slots for the beginning of 2026! If you're thinking of booking in, I'd suggest messaging soon, there are only a few slots left!
I can't wait to read your delectable stories!
January kicks off with Claire Twy and her bird-inspired fantasy spy novel! How cool does that sound?
I'll be able to tell you a little more about it in 2026, but for now, just know it's FUN!
Reading
The beginning of November saw me needing a palate cleanser, and I found that in Best Hex Ever. It was predictable and squishy like a toasted marshmallow, but that's not a bad thing! It was exactly what I needed and I had so much fun reading it. Best Hex Ever was...at a loss for a better word...CUTE!
Yes, I'm still reading Kingdom of Ash! I'm about 40% through and I WILL be finishing it before the year is up...but I'm afraid. I can feel it all coming to an end, the foreshadowing of conclusions is a little much for me. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to have my heart broken, yet, a book that breaks my heart is my fave so... onward we read!
By the next newsletter, you'll be able to hear all about how I'm a broken woman now, and that nothing will be the same ever again! (Too much? Maybe just read the book, Sarah!)
October - 2025
How's writing going?
I've been deep in the editing trenches for Nature's Design Book 2!
It's coming along nicely and I'd say I've happily made my way through three-quarters of the story...though, did I mention I'd forgotten about a character?
Whoops!
Not to worry, I've been back through and added this pivotal character in - crisis averted!
For funsies? I've started writing a horror story that I'll be sharing with my writing group at the end of the month.
We're all writing our take on twisted fairytale stories and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
I'll be adding this to my website at the end of the month for you perusal!
How about editing?
September was the month I sat down and edited L.Q Lark's fantasy book, Forged In Stardust.
This fantastical manuscript is the second installment after World Of Ruin, a book a thoroughly enjoyed!
The world building is spectacular and the character relationships are complex and 'ship' worthy!
I'd highly recommend catching up with this series if you haven't already, it's definitely one of those worlds that readers are desperate to find themselves lost within!
October sees the return of author Hollie Rogers, as I begin edits on her fantasy series. I had the pleasure of working with her on The Hunter's Heart, which is available for purchase now!
You won't want to let this author pass you by if you like a little heartbreak with your fantasy, or if you like to follow the main character through deep and mystical forests!
I've been chatting with Hollie regarding her new manuscript, Queen Of Ashes, and I can't wait to get stuck into the feral feisty female's story!
What've you been reading?
I've been slowly (very slowly) working my way through the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. Very early on, I realised Aelin was going to become one of, if not my all time, favorite main character!
After finishing my tandem read of Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn, which was a wild ride and took me many many...many months to reach the end, I've begun my Kingdom of Ash journey. Though I'm only 13% of the way through, I've already had a little cry.
I think this book might be the one to break me.
I'll keep you updated!
I've also been reading (and finished) Seventh Circle by L.P Brooks, an indie author who deserves all the praise! From chapter one, I could quickly see how much thought, effort, and love had been weaved throughout the story. Her writing flows beautifully and it didn't take long before intrigue and wonder set in!
If you love your fantasy imbued with elemental magic, royal secrets, and an FMC finding her way, you can purchase this magical book now!
